About Plot Armor RPG
Plot Armor is a rules-light tabletop role playing game system inspired by FKR - Frei Kriegspiel Renaissance, where the Referee resolves most situations by common sense. It can be used for any genre and tone of game.
A PC is built around how they approach situations rather than static attributes, which aids role playing. Dice rolls involve the Referee and Player each proposing outcomes, and rolling small opposing pools of six-sided dice to decide which version of events happens.
Each PC (like any story protagonist) has Plot Armor. This is the PC's single resource, but the Player doesn't know exactly how much they have! When the PC acts dangerously, fails a risky roll, or tries to introduce a new element to the story, the Player pays Plot Armor to avoid serious consequences and side effects. They do this by drawing from a small stack of cards (a dice alternative is included). The chance of running out of Plot Armor (drawing the "Consequence" card) will vary from 1/6 to 1/2, but since the stack is reshuffled when one card remains, you never know for sure when you have to face the Consequences of your actions.
Suffering Consequences leads to role playing opportunities, and by overcoming them, the PC evolves, for better or worse. This way, Plot Armor RPG both works for one-shots and for following PCs across longer stories and campaigns.
How many times can you tempt fate before your luck runs out?
